Ruwadzano/Manyano Convention

From 15 -18 August 2024 all the women of Ruwadzano/Manyano organization of the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe were gathered at Ebenezer campsite in Waddilove for their Connexional Convention. There was overwhelming response from the members as they turned out in numbers for this great event to celebrate their faith. In attendance at the Convention were Ruwadzano/Manyano members from all the eight Districts as well as from the diaspora fellowships. Leading the organisation is the Ruwadzano/Manyano President Mrs Mawire and their connexional committee comprising of the laity and ministerโ€™s wives. It was an uplifting moment for the women as they engaged in various spiritual uplifting activities. The church leadership comprising of the Presiding Bishop Revd G.T Mawire, Lay President Mr G. Hanyane, General Secretary Revd L. Molife, and all the District Bishops were also dignifying the occasion.

The Presiding Bishop Revd G. T Mawire addressed the gathering expressing his appreciation to the women who were gathering at this event being done after five years. He encouraged the women to be like Susanna Wesley the mother to John Wesley who was a prayerful and God fearing woman who also loved all her children and prayed for them. Also addressing the gathering, the Lay President Mr Hanyane highlighted that Ruwadzano/Manyano is a critical organisation in the church. He quoted the Zambian proverb that, โ€˜a tree is strong because of its rootsโ€™, hence the Methodist Church in Zimbabwe is strong because of Ruwadzano/Manyano; they are like the roots of the tree, i.e. the church at large as it constitutes of 33% of the total membership of the church.
