The Lord Is My Shepherd

Micah 7:5-7[5]

Do not trust in a friend; Do not put your confidence in a companion; Guard the doors of your mouth From her who lies in your bosom.[6]For son dishonors father, Daughter rises against her mother, Daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; A man’s enemies are the men of his own household.[7]Therefore I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; My God will hear me. Israel’s Confession and Comfort. My help still comes from God.

Every living human being was created by God. He is the one who formed us and who knows how our systems function. He made the veins in our bodies and he brought life into us. We therefore are people of God and He has every right to demand that as His creations, we worship only Him.

Genesis 2:7

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.It is wisdom to cling onto God and to trust fully in Him and in His ability to save us from all the cares of this world. Trust in people is misplaced trust. People are unstable and can change and deceive you but our God is faithful and never changes.

Isaiah 2:22

Sever yourselves from such a man, Whose breath is in his nostrils; For of what account is he? When God says that He will uphold you with His right hand, he is faithful and will fulfill his word. As things get worse for us, our faith and trust in God must remain steadfast. Shifting trust to other gods on to or own understanding will prove disasterous. God will not let us down, people may do that but He will not.

Numbers 23:19

God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?There are tragedies we have endured in our lives. This happens because this earth is a place full of troubles. The earth is cursed and full of troubles but know that this earth is temporary. Jesus said He went so that He could prepare us a better home where there is no sorrow and where we will not have to endure hardships. As difficult as this world is, our trust must remain pinned on God, the only one who can bring to us a better end. He is the only one who awaits at the end of our pilgrimage to reward us with life eternal. Even in our earthly battles, He stands there with us to support us through it all.Prayer Point Even though the experiences of this world distress us, You Oh God are our refuge. We know that Your love endures forever and that we have only to look to You and to keep trusting and obeying. Amen.
